JOB DESCRIPTION:
SAIC is seeking an experienced Data Analytics based Systems Engineer and Technical Assistant (SETA) for a position supporting a US Government customer in the Chantilly, VA area. The successful applicant will possess strong data analysis experience and broad information technology (IT) experience, e.g. network, hosting, desktops. As a SETA advisor, candidates will be required to demonstrate value-added judgment, and advise the government on various program activities, including advising on emerging technologies that may be beneficial for exploration by the government. The successful candidate will produce recommendations and deliverables in a thorough, practicable, and consistent manner congruent with the organization's objectives associated with IT infrastructure provisioning. US Citizenship required. Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with Poly is required to start and must be maintained.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate must be able to:
- Demonstrate their background in a quantitative field (e.g., mathematics, computer science, physics, economics, engineering, statistics, operations research, etc.)
- Demonstrate their ability to break down and understand complex business problems, define a solution and implement it using advanced quantitative methods
- Demonstrate their familiarity with data analysis programming, ideally with Python, SQL, or R
- Demonstrate their ability to deliver data analytics to include, but not limited to statistical analysis, data queries, data pipelines, data presentation, and dashboarding
- Demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills used for articulating service requirement gaps and formulating approaches to resolve those gaps
- Provide specific, detailed information for selection, implementation techniques, and tools required implementing approaches that efficiently meet business needs
- Design analytical visualizations via custom dashboards through a collaborative process with other Data Science and Analysis staff
- Work with service providers and product management to implement innovative analytic and visualization approaches to solve real-world problems
- Oversee and prioritize data analytics tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion
- Operate proactively to prioritize tasks and lead the coordinated execution of project engagements to ensure their timely and accurate completion without direct leadership oversight and/or participation
- Proactively perform as an organized and dedicated change agent, core to ensuring quality assurance while assisting the culture shift toward standardized IT service deliveries
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a US Citizen
- Within a STEM field of study: Bachelors in a STEM related field and five (5) years or more relevant experience; Masters in a STEM related field and three (3) years or more relevant experience
- Must possess and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with current Poly
- Proficiency in ServiceNow analytics and dashboard creation
- Broad experience with IT, e.g. networks, hosting, desktops as well as experience with IT architecture
- Experience using Splunk
- Experience with visualization tools like Tableau
- Experience with data analytics tools such as Python, R, Jupyter Networks, and Anaconda
- Familiarity with configuration management databases and their associated schema
