SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and cleared Database Administrator in Pensacola, FL to join our technology team. You will be the cornerstone of our data infrastructure, responsible for the day-to-day operational health and performance of our complex database systems in a secure and mission-focused environment. You will work within a collaborative team to ensure our data is secure, reliable, and highly available, directly contributing to the success of critical projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-level, day-to-day maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex database management systems across various operating systems.

  • Monitor, tune, and optimize multiple database systems to achieve peak performance levels.

  • Implement, manage, and audit robust solutions to ensure database data integrity and compliance with security standards.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive schedule for database backups, archives, and recovery operations.

  • Work closely with systems administrators, database engineers, and software developers to plan and modernize database implementations.

  • Provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.

  • Follow established procedures and policies, while exercising judgment to determine the appropriate course of action.

 

Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance with the ability to acquire a CI Polygraph upon hire.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.

  • Current CompTIA Security+ certification.

  • 2+ years of professional experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator.

  • Proven expertise in database maintenance, security, and performance tuning.

  • Demonstrated experience with database design, development, and data modeling.

  • Strong ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries and reports.

  • Familiarity with database testing methodologies and tools.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Active Directory and VMware.

  • Experience with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL) within a secure environment.

  • Knowledge of other database systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL).

  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell).
