SAIC is seeking a Facilities Engineer to support our mission in Chantilly, Virginia. This position requires an the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
SAIC provides full-service facility management support to a large Federal Government organization. We conduct end-to-end project management and facility engineering support for locations around the world. In this role, you will act as an interface between the on-site government facilities management organization, design and construction contractors, Site Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support contractor, local Government entities, and all other customers and stakeholders on matters related to facility Operation and Maintenance (O&M) issues and concerns.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Act as the liaison, reporting to and coordinating with Government representatives at multiple levels.
- Provide technical support for all O&M activities, range of duties include planning and programming, requirements development, through project execution (including commissioning), and disposal;
- Assist and advise customer leadership by developing and maintaining a plan, with cost estimates, to effectively recapitalize, modify, and optimize facilities in a comprehensive and strategic manner;
- Ensure that significant facilities issues are elevated, documented, addressed, and advocated for;
- Identify policy, processes, and standards and recommend changes and improvements to support effective facilities management planning and implementation;
- Identify and document facilities benchmarks to baseline the current performance in a common and consistent fashion;
- Advise on, recommend, and author policy documents with emphasis on standardizing facility management processes, documents, and tools;
- Develop engineering technical white papers as required;
- Assist in the evaluation of system related anomalies and perform root cause analysis; and
- Monitor and track deferred maintenance, daily operating status, outages; and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly.
- A Bachelor's degree in an engineering or architectural field with 5+ years of relevant experience supporting the Federal Government of 10+ years in commercial industry.
- Note: Years of additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- Knowledge of facility O&M activities and procedures.
- Experience with campus-wide water and electrical distribution systems.
- Understanding of critical infrastructure and ability to assess facility and system reliability.
- Ability to estimate and produce a rough order of magnitude (ROM) cost estimates for facility project planning and programming purposes.
- Demonstrated project management skills associated with managing performance, budget, schedules, and adhering to control gates.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus among diverse stakeholders
- High level of integrity, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Aptitude for organizing, prioritizing, and managing multiple priorities, using critical thinking and problem solving.
- Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions, and negotiate solutions.
