SAIC has an immediate need for a Facilities Project Engineer familiar with new construction and Information Technology designs for multiple networks and classifications. You will possess a TS/SCI clearance and will serve as the technical authority and project lead, responsible for full lifecycle management of complex IT initiatives. You will get to provide critical advisement and assistance in contract execution, vendor management, and the identification of technical specifications for enterprise-level solutions. Key responsibilities include engineering secure and resilient systems and networks, ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies such as Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DISA STIGs, and managing project scope, schedules and budgets to guarantee successful delivery. Help bring a strong blend of hands-on systems administration and engineering expertise combined with proven project management skills in a multi-domain environment to this team working in sunny Colorado Springs, CO.

Fun stuff on the job:

  • Design, Engineer, and implement secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure solutions for NIPR, SIPR, JWICS, and SAP networks.
  • Provide systems administration and engineering oversight for enterprise-level services, including Active Directory, collaboration platforms (like SharePoint and Teams), and virtualized environments.
  • Develop and maintain system architecture diagrams, configuration guides, and sustainment documentation.
  • Ensure all solutions comply with Department of War (DoW) cybersecurity policies, including Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements and DISA STIGs.
  • Lead entire project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closeout for all assigned IT initiatives.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, defining scope, milestones, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee project budgets, track expenditures, and conduct cost-benefit analyses to ensure financial accountability.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to prevent delays and cost overruns.
  • Provide technical advisement and assistance in the development of Statements of Work (SOWs) and other acquisition documents.
  • Collaborate with contracting officers to oversee contract execution and ensure vendor performance meets technical specifications and project milestones.
  • Identify, review, and select vendors or consultants to meet project needs and technical requirements.
  • Manage stakeholder communications, providing regular status reports and briefings to senior management on project progress, risks, issues and opportunities.

Qualifications

This is you:

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree with 15 years of experience (4 additional years of experience may be used in lieu of degree)
  • Experience with network design
  • Experience with Government networks i.e. NIPR, SIPR and JWICS
  • Must have familiarity with ICD 705
  • Must have an in-scope security background investigation (T5 or SSBI), adjudicated for SCI eligibility and enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (if applicable).
  • Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartment Information and Special Access Programs and willing to consent to a Polygraph examination. 

 

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
