 SAIC is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Field Technician who will provide support to Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC Pacific) Code 56770. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the support, repair, refurbishment, technical enhancements and general mission readiness of the surveillance and communications systems associated with the Electronic Harbor Security System (EHSS). NIWC Pacific Code 56770 is the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA), Information Assurance Manager (IAM), Configuration Management Agent (CMA), and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) manager for systems and subsystems associated with EHSS.

 The Electro-Mechanical Engineer Field Technician will provide on-site support (NIWC- PAC -Bayside) with a variety of engineering activities (electrical, hardware, software, network) to include supporting the design and implementation of Electro-Mechanical assemblies/products to be used and integrated into new or existing EHSS systems and sites.

This is an ONSITE role in San Diego, CA. Ideal candidate must be local to area.

 

JOB DUTIES:

 

  • Efforts can and will include supporting various engineering activities (electrical, hardware, software, network), including installation testing and troubleshooting of Electro-Mechanical systems and paths, that could include Fiber-Optic, Microwave and other communication type of networks associated with the EHSS system.

  • The Candidate will work under the direction of Government Engineers and project leaders. The candidate will review site installation plans, support technicians and engineers, and will be required to perform the steps involved in the Electro-Mechanical assembly process, from hands on assembly through documentation and testing.

  • The candidate will also identify areas requiring product improvement, upgrades and hardware or software engineering change orders, providing feedback to customers.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Bachelors Degree and two (2) years or more experience; years of experience in lieu of degree will be taken into consideration

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must have an Interim Secret Clearance to Start

  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance after start

  • Must have experience with the operation and use hand and machine shop tools (i.e. hammers, wrenches, grinder, power drill, sander, etc.).

  • Must have experience in electrical and mechanical fabrication and assembly, utilizing wire splicing, crimping, and soldering.

  • Ability to read, understand and follow engineering assembly drawings, bill of materials, manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and other supporting documentation.

  • Able to troubleshoot electro-mechanical assembly issues under limited supervision.

  • Average physical mobility to move around an office or lab environment, and the ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • Willingness to travel 1-2 times per year.

 

DESIRED SKLLS:

 

  • Any experience with Radars

  • Any experience with IP based Cameras

  • Any experience with Computers; software loading, scanning, network configuration, etc.

  • Any experience with Fiber Optic cables to include repair


Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
