We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Security Administrator to join our talented team. This role will require advanced knowledge of network security, threat analysis, incident response, vulnerability management, and security policy implementation, with responsibilities including conducting in-depth security assessments, designing complex security architectures, leading incident response efforts, and educating stakeholders on best security practices.

Work is performed on site in Norfolk, VA and Virginia Beach, VA.

This position is contingent upon award news Spring of 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in security architecture design and implementation for new systems and applications.
  • Monitor network traffic and identifying suspicious activity.
  • Perform advanced threat analysis and hunting for potential security breaches.
  • Manage security vendor relationships and evaluate security solutions.
  • Stay updated on emerging cyber threats and security best practices.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of practical experience in a Cybersecurity, Engineering, T&E or A&A (formerly C&A) related field.
  • Experience with Information Assurance tools such as DISA Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS).
  • May be required to hold an Interim Security Control Assessor qualification.
  • Experience in Cyber Security, Engineering, Test & Evaluation, (T&E) and/or Security Control Assessor (SCA) under a Certification & Accreditation (C&A) and/or Assessment & Authorization (A&A) process.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process or prior experience with the Defense Information Assurance & Certification Accreditation Process (DIACAP).
  • Experience with Information Assurance tools such as DISA Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS).
  • Knowledge of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing protocols).
  • Experience with operating system security (Windows, Linux).
  • Firewall configuration and management experience.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint security, vulnerability scanning tools, and security logging systems.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automated security tasks.
  • Knowledge of cryptography, secure coding practices, and data encryption techniques.
  • Experience with cloud security architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Ability to assist with the preparation and maintenance of process artifacts, traceability documents purposed for compliance with Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements.
  • Ability to evaluate security solutions to ensure they meet security requirements for processing up to classified information and supervise and/or maintain the operational security posture for an information system or program.
  • Demonstrated communication skills to interact with project and security managers; clearly explain technical concepts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Required Certificate:

  • Must possess a Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 CSWF certification.

Required Security Clearance:

  • US Citizenship required.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
    • Active Interim Secret or final Secret clearance is preferred.
