SAIC is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to support expansion of the U.S. Army Asian Studies Detachment's CITROS OSINT/DOMEX management system.
This work will be performed on site at Camp Zuma, Japan.
The Software Engineer will be responsible for:
Application Development:
- Implement bug fixes and small feature enhancements in CITROS (SQL, C#, Angular)
- Write and test code under senior developer guidance
- Assist with unit testing and participate in code reviews
Technical Documentation:
- Create and update developer guides, API documentation, and SOP documents
- Maintain process documentation for deployments and AWS integrations
- Develop end-user support articles and troubleshooting notes
Technical Support/Business Analysis:
- Conduct user surveys to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement in CITROS usage
- Provide Tier 1/2 support, addressing user inquiries and resolving access, configuration, and environmental issues
- Analyze and document recurring issues, contributing to the development of a comprehensive knowledge base
- Escalate complex technical problems to senior developers or administrators
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- 2+ years of software development or Computer Science like college degree
- Basic programming experience (C#, TypeScript/JavaScript)
- Familiarity with relational databases (SQL Server or equivalent)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve routine technical issues
Optional Experience:
- Exposure to .NET Core, Angular, or Entity Framework
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (firewalls, VPN, VLANs)
- Experience writing documentation or support guides
- Knowledge of Git and version control practices
Clearance Requirement:
- Must have and maintain a Secret clearance
