SAIC is seeking a Linux Cyber Systems Engineer to play a critical role in supporting end-to-end CONOPS validation for complex remote and human-enabled Computer Network Defense (CND) operations. This individual will focus on designing, developing, and executing scalable solutions leveraging bespoke tools, systems, and acquired infrastructure to address mission-critical challenges.
The ideal candidate will have Linux systems and scripting experience utilizing BASH and Python. This role requires a strong strategic mindset, critical thinking skills, and hands-on expertise in validating system CONOPS, coupled with a team-oriented approach and the ability to excel with minimal guidance. Relevant experience in areas such as network administration, cloud infrastructure, and computer network exploitation (CNE) is highly desirable, with additional emphasis on CNE test bed development and end-to-end CONOPS validation. It is anticipated this position will require approximately 10-25% travel.
Job Responsibilities:
Support the design, development, and execution of end-to-end CONOPS validation in a scalable manner for complex remote and human-enabled operations involving bespoke tools and systems acquired infrastructure
Collaborate with stakeholders and enabling entities to identify and develop innovative solutions that address risk across multiple domains
Provide regular updates to project stakeholders and program leadership on technical and tradecraft status
Demonstrate strong strategic and critical thinking skills, and execute tactical development and validation tasks, to validate end-to-end system CONOPS
Work effectively as part of a collaborative team, and within minimal guidance
Relevant technical backgrounds include but are not limited to; network administration, cloud infrastructure, computer network exploitation
Relevant experience includes CNE Test bed/architecture development and maintenance and CNE end-to-end CONOP validation
Qualifications
Must currently hold a TS/SCI and Poly clearance to be considered
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology Field and 10+ years of related industry experience, or 15+ years equivalent industry experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience administrating and troubleshooting Linux systems and networks
Minimum of 10 years of experience working with system networks
Minimum of 10 years of experience testing network service software
Minimum of 10 years of experience creating and adapting testing and test automation capabilities
Minimum of 10 years of experience creating emulators for testing
Minimum of 10 years of experience validating end to end, Client system that enable CNE CONOPS
Minimum of 3 years of experience building and operating JAVA (or similar) development and test network
Ability to travel to support technical development efforts

Expertise in working with Linux system architectures
Experience identifying likely points for Linux system and network failures
Experience scripting identified failure points and parsing outputs
Ability to replicate conditions of failure and ensure causality
Ability to baseline and restore working environment test consistency
Experience hardening Linux and system services
