SAIC is seeking a Network Communications Engineer to join our team in Boulder, CO to support an effort with US Space Force.

As the Network Communications Engineer will , you act as the subject matter expert responsible for collaborating with multiple tenants and external communications providers to manage outages, testing, upgrades, impacts, risks, mitigation, status, and reporting in relation to both planned and unplanned events. You will also identify configuration items, implementing change control, configuration status accounting, and conducting physical configuration audits.

Key Responsibilities to include:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and expert for network communications, managing interactions with multiple tenants and external communications providers.
  • Handle outages, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
  • Conduct regular testing, upgrades, and risk assessments, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues.
  • Manage the implementation and monitoring of network communications security measures.
  • Identify and document all configuration items, ensuring they are current and accurate.
  • Implement and oversee change control processes to maintain the integrity and reliability of network configurations.
  • Maintain thorough configuration status accounting records.
  • Conduct physical configuration audits to ensure adherence to established standards and procedures.
  • Provide detailed reports on status, impacts, risks, and mitigation activities related to network communications.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support planned or unplanned event activities, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum efficiency.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including DoD 8140.
  • Keep up-to-date with advancements in network communications technology, security protocols, and best practices.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience. Relevant experience to be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Must possess one of the following certifications: Security+, CCNP, CASP+, SCCP, or equivalent certification in accordance with DoD 8140 requirements.
  • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.
  • 7 years of relevant experience in network communications engineering.
  • Deep understanding of network communications protocols, architectures, and security measures.
  • Hands-on experience with network configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working with diverse teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and respond swiftly to unplanned events.
  • Proficiency in using network management and monitoring tools.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
