SAIC is seeking an Occupational Health Nurse in Chantilly, VA.  As the Occupational Health Nurse/OHN you will be involved with the scheduling of patient consultations, assessing patient health needs, providing a variety of minor medical and first aid treatments, as well as maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and project reports. You will also focuses on the promotion and restoration of health, prevention of illness and injury, and protection from work related and environmental hazards.

Job Duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Coordinate annually written policies, SOPs, and Standing Orders on behalf of site GPOC and corporate Headquarters
  • Provide written, weekly activity reports to site GPOC for possible referral to corporate headquarters
  • Develop and maintain service/demand and performance metrics in coordination with site GPOC and corporate headquarters
  • Respond to medical emergencies and submit Medical Incident Reports
  • Support interactions with medical and emergency services during drills and emergencies
  • Manage and train the Site Medical Response/Mass Casualty Team
  • Disperse over-the-counter drugs per SOPs or Standing Orders
  • Host and coordinate blood drives
  • Maintain Ergonomics, Wellness, and Blood Borne Exposure Control Programs
  • Administer vaccine programs (influenza, business travel)
  • Provide Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) required screenings (vision, respiratory, blood pressure, hearing)
  • Maintain mother's nursing rooms
  • Host Annual Health Fair and health-related seminars
  • Provide CPR/AED and First Aid training
  • Coordinate and update policies, SOPs, and Standing Orders annually
  • Submit weekly activity reports to site GPOC
  • Develop and maintain service/demand and performance metrics

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and minimum of 6 years relevant experience or an Associate's Degree and minimum of 8 years relevant experience, or years of experience in lieu of.
  • Defibrillators Certification
  • Active certification as an Occupational Health Nurse
  • License to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) within Virginia
  • Active Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification
  • US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance and Poly required (or be able to obtain).
  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to work collaboratively with multiple site and enterprise customers, stakeholders, and corporate headquarters managers
  • Oral and written communication skills sufficient to compose and deliver clear and concise medical records and reports
  • Critical thinking skills needed to analyze customer needs, work independently through completion of tasks, and make sound judgements under pressure
  • Knowledge in the use of MS Office and standard computer applications
  • Thorough knowledge of current industry trends in medical and nursing practice protocol and equipment standards
  • Active Healthcare Provider of Cardiovascular Pulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External
  • Active Hearing Conservationist Certification – may be required within 6 months of hiring depending on OSHA requirement at designated site
