SAIC is seeking a Procurement Analyst to support project USX Project Manager and Deputy Project Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and tracking the procurement of physical hardware, project materials, and software licenses for the UxS STRATCAP project. This individual will ensure that all hardware and software requirements derived from the Bill of Materials (BOM) are accurately sourced, tracked, received, allocated, and managed. Success in this role requires an exceptionally organized, detail-oriented professional capable of adapting to rapidly changing project demands while maintaining strict control over both physical and digital assets.
This will be an ON-SITE role in San Diego, CA. There will be up to 25% of travel required for this role
JOB DUTIES:
- Bill of Materials (BOM) Management: Review, analyze, and continuously monitor the project BOM to identify all hardware, material, and software requirements. Ensure alignment between engineering specifications and procurement orders.
- Hardware Lifecycle Tracking: Track the complete procurement lifecycle for all project hardware, including purchase requisition, purchase order (PO) generation, vendor processing, shipping status, and final receipt.
- Software License Management: Track software purchases, subscriptions, license keys, seat allocations, and renewal/expiration dates. Ensure the project remains compliant with vendor licensing agreements and that software access is available when needed.
- Inventory & Asset Control: Maintain meticulous records of physical hardware (receipt, physical location, staging status, deployment allocation) and digital assets (license distribution, assigned users, active subscriptions).
- Status Reporting: Generate and provide regular, accurate procurement status reports to the PM, DPM, and other key stakeholders. Highlight potential supply chain bottlenecks, long lead items, or upcoming software renewal deadlines immediately.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between engineering, logistics, vendors, and project management to ensure hardware and software are delivered on time and meet project specifications.
- Process Optimization: Develop and implement standardized tracking sheets to maintain a high level of organization for both physical inventory and digital licenses in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Degree and three (3) years or more of related experience; Masters and one year of related experience
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance after start
Must be Local to San Diego, CA
Must be able to travel up to 25% throughout the year
- Organization & Attention to Detail: Must possess exceptional organizational skills and a meticulous eye for detail to ensure zero discrepancies in physical material tracking and software compliance.
- Experience: Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, and project coordination on large, complex projects.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where requirements and priorities may frequently shift.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex supply chain and licensing data into clear, actionable updates for project leadership.
- Problem Solving: Proactive approach to identifying potential hardware shortages, delivery delays, or licensing issues, and presenting viable mitigation strategies to the PM/DPM.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Secret Clearance desired
- Desired 3 years of experience in or with analyzing Bill of Material (BOM), tracking of the procurement process for both hardware and software
- Desired 3 years of experience in or with inventory management and tracking.
- Liaison between engineering, logistics, vendors, and project management to ensure hardware and software are delivered on time and meet project timelines
