SAIC is seeking an Illustrator III for the US Navy in Bedford, IN.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Candidate will provide illustration and photography support to demonstrate strong conceptual problem-solving skills and to translate customer requirements into visually engaging, innovative solutions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing illustrations, drawings, and graphics such as exploded views, schematic diagrams, assembly/component views, functional and isometric drawings, and troubleshooting functional flow trees
- Creating original 2D artwork
- Working with and exporting line drawings from 3d models
- Shooting photography in studio and on location
- Editing photography in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom
- Creating and manipulating illustrations, graphics, charts, diagrams, etc. to be included in technical documentation in adherence to government specifications
- Conducting quality assurance checks on team members' artwork
- Creating storyboards and presentations that depict customers' vision
- Creating and maintaining trackers for developing, planning, and scheduling purposes
- Maintaining records and file management
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 3+ years of related experience using current technologies. Additional years of experience in lieu of degree will be accepted
- No clearance required to start however must have the ability to obtain a secret clearance. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process
- US Citizenship
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Lightroom
- Experience with Solidworks or similar 3d modeling package
- Possess proficiency in traditional illustration techniques including but not limited to perspective, composition, layout and the importance of line weight
- Possess proficiency in multiple illustration styles and techniques
- Possess practical knowledge of 3d modeling programs and how to extract line drawings from a 3d package to be used in 2d Illustrations and graphics
- Possess practical knowledge of photography characteristics, compressions, conversion techniques, file formats, and display devices
- Possess practical knowledge of photo composition principles and techniques such as framing, lighting, optics, and perspectives
- Experience in studio, field, and live photography shoots using high-definition camera equipment
- Experience with creating and manipulating vector graphics
- Experience in storyboarding and presentations/briefs
- Proficient on PC
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with DOD industry
- Experience with MIL-STDs
- Experience with Microsoft products to include: Project, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Outlook
