SAIC has an opportunity for a Security Support Manager in Beltsville, MD! The role may allow remote work 1-2 days/week.
Description of Duties:
- Responsible for assisting the COMSEC Custodian/Security office in the day to day management of security related activities
- Responsible for assisting in the monitoring, operating, managing, troubleshooting and restoring service to communications networks in a large telecommunications facility environment (includes data/voice communications equipment, multiplexers, data terminal equipment, commercial leases and transmission media).
- Responsible for assisting in the performance of pro-active monitoring of network elements alarms and alerts to identify those components/elements that may lead to or already are causing network degradation or failure.
COMSEC Responsibilities:
- Define and present formal and informal training for program personnel assigned to work directly with Communication Security (COMSEC) materials.
- Use regulations to establish and manage security programs pertaining to Personnel Security, Physical Security, Information Security, or other security related areas.
- Conduct Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) inspections to verify Communications Security (COMSEC) materials are properly distributed, safeguarded, and disposed as required.
- Maintain required files and Communications Security (COMSEC) libraries for compliance with governing directives (e.g., Key Management Infrastructure (KMI), COMSEC Policy and Procedures for the US Department of State).
- Implement Physical Security procedures (e.g., handling, storage, local custody, accountability, inventory, transfer, destruction) on Communication Security (COMSEC) equipment and material.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience:
- BS and 3 or more years of experience in the telecommunications environment. May accept additional experience in lieu of degree.
- Experience and working knowledge of COMSEC related activities.
- Working knowledge of Physical security related activities.
- Experience with 1 or more of the following equipment:
- Routers - CISCO and Juniper Switches.
- PBX, CISCO and Juniper.
- GEM-X .
- Crypto: Taclanes KG 175s D, G, X and F, Secure Viper Phones and KIK 30.
Required Clearance:
- US Citizenship.
- Active Top Secret Clearance.
Desired Experience, Skills, & Attributes:
- ITIL Certification
- Data Center Information Management knowledge/understanding
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
