SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer to modernize the Air Force's suite of applications and constructive models to address several modeling and simulation challenges to include:
- Support to Air Operations Center (AOC) Weapon System (WS) application development, testing, and field training.
- Full transition, assumption, and replacement of the current Air Force Modeling and Simulation Training Toolkit (AFMSTT) stimulation and simulation capabilities via Agile software methods.
- Reinforcement training of Joint Force Air Component Commanders (JFACC) Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) worldwide.
- Support to AF constructive modeling and predictive analysis of modern warfare.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agile software development and a proven track record of working with advanced technologies and systems. As a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of cloud and software engineers, driving the development and sustainment of complex software systems, and ensuring the highest standards of security and functionality.
This position will support the Air Force's Command and Control Simulation Environment Training (C2SET) Sustainment through Modification & Modernization contract under the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC/C3CO ‘Kessel Run'), C2SET Program Management Office (PMO), Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts. This contract will fully assume, transition, and replace the current AFMSTT system while maintaining or enhancing the same general mission requirements and scope.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and mentoring a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Architecting, developing, securing, implementing, testing, and leading software sustainment and development teams in C5ISR Modeling & Simulation (M&S).
- Leveraging extensive experience in full stack development, agile development methodologies, and associated artifacts.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience developing systems in C++ and Python.
- Experience with AFSIM, Web services, Database, and/or web application development.
- Have experience working with cloud-based services (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure) and REST API architectures.
- Have at least 2 years of experience in military mission planning, operations, and wargaming.
- Have at least 2 years of relevant experience in simulation training at various levels working with the Air Operations Centers.
- Provide senior knowledge and senior hands-on experience in architecting, developing, securing, implementing, testing, and leading software sustainment and development teams.
- Have extensive experience in full stack development, agile development, and artifacts.
- Have experience in Artificial Intelligence / Machine Leaning / Reinforcement Learning (AI/ML/RL).
Minimum Clearance Level:
- Active Secret clearance.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field.
- Advanced degree preferred.
Certifications:
Required certifications include one of the following:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
Desired certifications include:
- CKAD
