JOB DESCRIPTION:  SAIC seeks a Senior Mission Protection Systems Engineer to provide systems engineering and technical services in Chantilly, VA. As the government's trusted subject matter expert and thought leader on Counterspace Mission Protection, the MP SE will assist the government by providing defensive counterspace tactics development expertise that also includes planning, developing and overseeing coordination of Mission Protection CONOPS, policies and frameworks across the enterprise. 
•    Perform extensive coordination across the enterprise to identify Counterspace Mission Protection needs and drive resources to effective solutions.
•    Serve as the government's SME on integration of counterspace response options
•    Provide operational expertise into successful contingency operations
•    Provide detailed reviews and redlines to protection CONOPS, policies, and organizational agreements
•    Develop internal Mission Protection governance documents
•    Provide support Senior Staff for inter-agency meetings (provide topics, tracks action items, develop briefings, advises solutions)
 

Qualifications

Required:  
•    US Citizenship
•    Active TS/SCI with polygraph
•    Bachelor's degree and thirteen (13) years or more relevant experience or field; master's and eleven (11) years or more experience.  
•    In-depth expertise in Counterspace Mission Protection, to include threats, response options, and policy
•    Familiar with and able to integrate counterspace operations into SAP/CAP programs
•    Familiar with stakeholders' role across the protection community including operators, mission partners, policy makers and acquisition offices.
•    Forward thinking self-starter able to proactively address customer requirements without supervision; expert at defining solutions for broad, abstract topics.
•    Polished, persuasive communicator (written/verbal), master at collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders – consensus builder.
•    Impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment – interacts with highest levels of government senior executives
•    Experienced with the Intelligence Community and relevant Department of War organizations, especially space operations


Desired:
•    USAF Weapons School graduate (Space Weapons Instructor Course)
