SAIC has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO at the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC) on Schriever Space Force Base (SFB), supporting the Systems Simulation, Software and Integration (S3I) Directorate and the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Directorate for Ground Test (DTG).

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing network monitoring, troubleshooting, and reporting during Missile Defense Agency (MDA) test events
  • Providing communications (Secure VoIP, Secure Chat) support during MDA test events
  • Coordinating with MDA elements to gather and verify connectivity information required for MDA test events and create an Event Communications Baseline document for that MDA test event
  • Assisting with the design, implementation, and support of LAN/WAN networks and systems
  • Assisting with the development and maintenance of network system and service configurations
  • Documenting and troubleshooting network and system issues
  • Creating and maintaining network diagrams and documentation
  • Assisting with the configuration, implementation, and utilization of network tools such as Cisco DNA Center, Cisco ISE, Wireshark, Opmanager, and SolarWinds
  • Ability to travel occasionally (up to 10%) to support various hardware upgrades at remote sites
  • ·    Ability to work infrequent night shifts for up to 2 weeks at a time (with prior notice) to support MDA test events

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, with five (5) years of relevant experience; Additional six (6) years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle).

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance or an Interim Secret security clearance to start; US Citizenship required.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Must have CompTIA Security+ or CISSP Certification
  • Must have CCNA or higher Cisco professional certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Experience with Cisco routing and switching design and configuration
  • Experience deploying or managing TACLANEs or other cryptographic equipment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Visio
  • Potential for travel (CONUS and OCONUS - Up to 10% per year and up to 14 days at a time) and ability to obtain a US Passport 

Desired knowledge, skills and experiences:

  • Experience deploying and managing firewalls (Palo Alto and/or Cisco ASA)
  • Experience with network management and monitoring toolsets such as Cisco DNA Center, Cisco ISE, Wireshark, and Opmanager
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux workstation and server configuration and operation
  • Familiarity with multicast network configuration, operation, and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with Cisco Unified Communications and AV endpoints such as VoIP Phones and VTC Units
  • Familiarity with MDA Ground Test, Flight Test, War Games, or Exercises
  • Familiarity with the creating of Ports, Protocols, and Services Management (PPSM) documents

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
