SAIC is seeking a Senior Nuclear Emergency Response Exercise Planner to provide dedicated advisory and assistance services (A&AS) support to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Nuclear Enterprise Directorate, Nuclear Surety Department. The qualified candidate will organize, coordinate, execute, and provide support to Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) nuclear weapon accident incident (NWAI) response planning, training, education, and exercises. This position is in Kleber Kaserne, Kaiserslautern, Germany.  

Primary Duties Include:

·       Organize, coordinate, and facilitate Nuclear Weapon Accident Incident (NWAI) response training and exercises.

·       Assist in the development, maintenance, and presentation of NWAI response courses.

·       Integrate new and emerging technologies into NWAI training and exercises.

·       Synchronize European NWAI lines of effort with partner nations.

·       Analyze international agreements, plans, and other documents at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels of command.

·       Align and integrate U.S. operational response plans with international response efforts for seamless cooperation.

·       Review, validate, assess, and assist in the development of national and DoD NWAI response policy and procedures.

·       Travel as required.

·       Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education:

·       Bachelor's Degree and 15 years or more of related experience

 Required Clearance:

·       Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI

·       US citizenship required

 Required Qualifications:

·       Proven experience planning and executing exercises, specifically exercises involving U.S. nuclear weapon emergency response scenarios.

·       Broad understanding of U.S. and NATO nuclear plans and policies.

·       Experience working with the Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear weapons laboratory.

·       Subject Matter Expert (SME) in U.S. nuclear weapon response plans, logistics, and operations.

·       Experience operating in international environments and working with NATO partner organizations.

·       Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating to senior leadership through briefings, written/verbal correspondence, and other means as necessary.

·       Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team.

 

Desired Qualifications:

·       Prior experience working with DTRA programs, specifically within the nuclear enterprise.

·       Graduate of the Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal (NAVSCOLEOD).

·       Experience authoring and presenting training materials.

·       Ability to problem-solve in a time constrained environment.

·       Experience producing after action reports (AARs).
