SAIC is seeking an experienced Build/Release Engineer to join the Integrated Booking System (IBS) program. IBS enables electronic procurement of commercial transportation services for Department of Defense (DoD) sponsored cargo. The IBS suite includes applications that provide automated tools for carrier contract requirements, rate solicitations, vessel schedules, fleet management, shipment documentation, and more.

This role is responsible for the successful installation and implementation of government- owned software onto the government-owned development, staging, production and Fail-Over site environments. This role is responsible for performing code scans, builds and installation of the code into the government-owned environments. You will use a master build process that reliably builds a complete base-line distribution from source and verify the integrity of the software delivered.

For all deliveries, you will work with the team to provide all source code, installation kits, documentation (to include but not limited to those related to architecture, test design and testing results, user guides, training artifacts, and installation procedures), and build procedures and scripts delivered to or maintained for the government.

Duties include:

  • Deployment: Oversee and execute the deployment of software builds into various environments, ensuring a seamless transition from code to production.
  • Version Control: Manage version control systems to track code changes and ensure the correct versions are used.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Resolve issues and troubleshoot build, deployment, and release-related problems to ensure smooth operations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Development, QA, and leadership team to gather requirements, ensure proper testing, and coordinate release activities.
  • Monitoring: Monitor software builds and release pipelines for stability and performance, taking action to resolve any issues.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously identify areas for improvement in the build and release process.

Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Security + Certification
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, and 5+ years of experience; OR Master's Degree & 3+ years of experience
  • Strong background with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps
  • Previous experience working within Government environments

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
