SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer to join and support our dynamic team in Panama City Beach, Florida.
This is an excellent opportunity to grow your career and hone your leadership skills while supporting multiple Navy projects of varying complexity. We are seeking a motivated individual eager to apply your expertise in systems engineering, leveraging Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), to enable the successful execution of complex programs.
As an engineering team member, you will:
Contribute to all aspects of the systems engineering technical processes across the entire system lifecycle. You will act as a key technical resource, providing guidance to team members and ensuring that systems engineering best practices are followed. You will also play a pivotal role in overseeing requirements development, system design, integration, risk management, and verification/validation of complex Navy systems using Digital Engineering (DE) and MBSE principles, tools, and methodologies. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Execute all systems engineering technical processes in accordance with program requirements, from initial concept through final delivery.
• Develop and maintain system models using MBSE frameworks and tools such as Cameo.
• Guide requirements development, including requirements elicitation, documentation, analysis, and traceability to ensure alignment with system objectives and higher-level customer needs.
• Perform system architecture design and functional decomposition leveraging Systems Modeling Language (SysML).
• Develop Interface Control Documents (ICDs) to ensure proper interaction between system components and external systems.
• Conduct trade studies, feasibility assessments, and performance analyses to identify optimized solutions and design alternatives.
• Oversee and contribute to integration, verification, and validation (IV&V) efforts, ensuring technical compliance with customer and program requirements.
• Identify, assess, and manage technical risks, including developing mitigation strategies and providing regular risk reports to stakeholders.
• Support the development of engineering documentation, technical reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in technical reviews, including System Requirements Reviews (SRR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), and Critical Design Reviews (CDR).
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers to promote growth and technical excellence within the team.
• Maintain alignment with customer objectives and provide technical leadership to resolve challenges encountered during all phases of the program lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineering, to ensure a cohesive and integrated systems approach.
• Monitor and adapt engineering plans, schedules, and deliverables in response to evolving program needs, while adhering to project timelines and budgets.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline and 5 years (or Master's and 3 years) or more of work experience with demonstrated experience across the full lifecycle (requirements capture, system design, integration, and verification/validation).
• Hands-on experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using tools such as Cameo or Enterprise Architect.
• Experience in SysML for developing system models, functional architectures, and design artifacts.
• Proficiency in performing trade studies, risk assessments, and requirements decomposition.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced program environment.
• Proficiency in writing and interpreting technical reports, requirements, and interface documents
