SAIC is currently looking for a Senior Systems Engineer & Program Integrator to provide senior technical and programmatic advisory support to the US Space Force's Space Systems Center, System Delta 84 (SYD 84). This pivotal role directly assists the Government Program Office in managing the acquisition and development of Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) capabilities at the Tools Applications and Processing (TAP) Lab in Boulder, CO, and OPIR Battlespace Awareness Center (OBAC) at Buckley Space Force Base, CO.

 

The successful candidate will function as a critical liaison and deputy advisor, bridging the prime Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution (FORGE) development contract, missile warning operations, and the government program office. A key focus will be ensuring the successful integration of FORGE capabilities into the OPIR enterprise, while identifying and championing critical requirements from the missile warning community back to the FORGE program office. This role is empowered to drive strategic alignment, oversee programmatic execution, and streamline development processes across the entire enterprise to accelerate the delivery of capabilities to the Mission Control Station (MCS) and MCS-Backup (MCSB).

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Programmatic & Deputy Support: Act as a key advisor to the Government Program Manager, assisting in the oversight of the FORGE portfolio. Responsibilities include tracking program schedules, managing risks, developing acquisition strategies, and representing the program office in technical and programmatic reviews.
  • FORGE Application Integration Lead: Manage end-to-end integration and onboarding of new applications onto the FORGE platform. Guide third-party developers through technical requirements, Platform One security accreditation processes, and operational testing.
  • Strategic Liaison: Serve as the primary interface between the FORGE prime contractor, the missile warning enterprise, and the government program office, ensuring technical and programmatic efforts are synchronized and de-conflicted.
  • Requirements: Actively identify critical user needs and requirements that have been identified in FORGE Technical Requirement Documents (TRD) and ensure they are worked at the appropriate level meeting the needs of the customer.
  • Technical Ecosystem Management: Perform hands-on system engineering to troubleshoot and resolve integration issues. Manage and maintain the knowledge base for application developers using tools such as Confluence and Jira.
  • User & Developer Engagement: Perform user engagement to solicit operator needs and translate those needs into actionable requirements. Serve as the primary technical point of contact for application developers during integration and test events.
  • Verification & Validation: Perform and oversee systems Engineering activities including requirements definition, CONOPS formulation, system integration, and the verification and validation of all new applications and capabilities before their transition to the missile warning community.

 

Qualifications

·      US Citizen with eligibility to hold a DoD TS/SCI security clearance

·      Experience navigating US Space Force/Air Force acquisition lifecycle

·      Experience with Space/Air Force missile warning, tracking, characterization, and/or defense

·      DoD Acquisition and/or demonstrated experience accelerating software project development, integration, and deployment

·      Experience in Systems Engineering as it relates to Space System programs

·      Knowledge of requirements generation, concept development, and Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) processes

·      Ability to recommend and make decisions on projects and action items to achieve program and/or organizational objectives

·      Comfortable delivering presentations on programmatic and technical matters to Government customers

·      Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building, and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be effective in Government and Contractor teams

·      Ability to work proactively and independently as a member of a highly effective technical team

 

Education and Experience:

·      Bachelor's degree and five or more years related experience

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
