SAIC is seeking a Senior Technical Trainer to support the Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific (NIWC PAC) Naval Messaging CB ISEA. The work will be conducted at the Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific (NIWC PAC) San Diego, CA.
Job Duties:
- Develop, update, and deliver comprehensive technical training materials for the Naval Messaging In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA), encompassing standardized modules, customized content, and new product training. Provide instruction both independently and collaboratively, tailoring content to meet the specific needs of diverse audiences. Demonstrate flexibility and commitment by traveling to various locations to provide onsite technical training, with an expected travel commitment of approximately 25% per year.
- Collaborate with stakeholders—including customers, fleet organizations, engineering teams, and software developers—to gather requirements and develop comprehensive training programs. Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, creating training materials, designing product demonstrations, developing course content, determining appropriate training methodologies, and coordinating the creation of training aids
- Deliver training sessions at Navy operational sites and establish criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Continuously revise lesson plans to ensure course material accurately reflect product features, address new training requirements, and maintain relevance of technical information
- Contribute the development and validation of Interactive Electronic Training Manuals.
- Perform testing of applications and messaging systems in the OASIS Lab.
- Candidates will have experience and familiarity with virtualization and Linux/Microsoft environments and possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelors and five (5) years of relevant experience; Masters degree and three (3) years of relevant experience; 4 years of additional experience in lieu of a degree.
Required Security Clearance:
- Must have an Active Top Secret Clearance (US Citizenship required).
Required Skills:
- Naval Messaging application administration and operational experience.
- Candidate should have strong computer and networking skills and demonstrate a working knowledge of current applicable military and commercial standards and specifications. Experience developing and delivering military application training.
- Excellent Communications Skills are essential, with a focus on delivering clear and engaging presentations to small groups (up to 10 participants).
- Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. passport and travel internationally as required. Conduct structured, step-by-step technical training sessions, guiding individuals through specific procedures and application tools. Provide real-time corrections and support to ensure accurate execution and understanding.
Desired Skills:
- Basic understanding of Windows Active Directory
- Familiarity with legacy Navy messaging systems
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts
Desired certifications:
- Master Training Specialist or Afloat Training Specialist
- Professional level vendor certifications such as Microsoft or Linux+
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
