SAIC is seeking a CBA Simulator Technician III to serve on a team supporting the Aviation Combined Arms Tactical Trainer (AVCATT) located onside in Fort Wainwright, Alaska.
The CBA Simulator Technician III maintains, updates, and provides instructions for Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS). Responsibilities include usage, installation, troubleshooting, and sustainment procedures for contractor personnel, the Government, and its customers. The Technician uses extensive technical knowledge to repair, modify, and install electronic equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain, update, and provide maintenance instructions on TADSS, including usage, installation, troubleshooting, and sustainment procedures
- Repair, troubleshoot, and modify various types of electronic equipment and related devices
- Apply technical knowledge to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment to normal operation
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on simulators and associated systems
- Diagnose and correct problems on simulators and associated systems
- Utilize maintenance management systems to record and track maintenance activities
- Train technicians in basic skills and provide technical training for other technicians
- Complete all designated training activities and pursue continued professional growth
- Perform pre-flight and post-flight checks on all simulators
- Perform refurbishment and hardware modifications
- Execute software changes to address problems on simulators and associated systems
- Identify and coordinate efforts to correct training deficiencies
- Assist the Group Lead in daily maintenance operations
- Provide customer service support and address customer needs promptly
- Perform logistics duties including parts receipt, repair, and testing/validation
- Maintain simulators through housekeeping functions as required
- Support the technical services group with administrative tasks and other required duties
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree and zero (0) years experience; Additional six (6) years' experience accepted in lieu of degree
- 2-year technical degree or equivalent related training
- Minimum of 5 years of direct simulator experience, with at least 3 years of relevant simulator experience per assigned location
Required Clearance:
- Must possess an active DoD Secret Clearance; US Citizenship required
Required Skills:
- Proficiency with all types of test equipment and software diagnostics for simulators
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with experience in hardware modifications and upgrades
- Demonstrated expertise and experience in developing and delivering technical training for major simulator systems (e.g., motion, visual, aircraft systems)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite
Desired Skills:
- Experience in the aviation industry, such as labs, MRO, AME, aircraft, repair shops, electronics industry, design, computer repair, simulation software, etc
