Description

SAIC is looking for a Software Engineer Lead to support the development, evaluation, and testing of Imagery systems for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) located on Eglin AFB, Florida.

Specifically, it involves the development of realistic composite battlespace radiance imagery to support desktop phenomenology applications, simulations, and hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) test infrastructures, through Fast-Line-of-Sight Imagery for Target and Exhaust-plume Signatures (FLITES).  The successful applicant will work to interface software through a stand-alone program or through an Application Programming Interface (API) and will take current efforts to integrate FLITES into more algorithm level testing and approaches, such as autonomous target recognition.

The successful applicant will also perform research of advanced weapon guidance, navigation & control (GN&C).  They will develop weapon component models, digital simulations, and HWIL simulations, while performing analysis of the weapon system components and capabilities to allow the Munitions Directorate within the AFRL to demonstrate the readiness of their next generation weapon systems.

The applicant will be expected to lead a team of engineers and will document processes, procedures, test results, and report these to their program manager, as well as external entities.
