SAIC is looking for a Staff Operations Officer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) services to one of our US Government customers. The Staff Operations Officer will interact with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations. You will be a part of a large multi-year contract that supports the customer in systems engineering and integration across a broad portfolio of projects. You will come into a program that enjoys a close working relationship with the customer, bringing exquisite technical expertise to bear on real world problems, helping the customer execute real world missions that impact National Security on a daily basis. This close relationship, along with the program's longevity (20 years), ensures that as a new team member you will find a depth of support to grow and develop that is unmatched, all while making a difference - daily.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The primary functions of a SOO are to actively manage the two-way dialogue between the organization and stakeholders, establish and identify collection requirements, and evaluate to ensure collection is providing US foreign policy and national security decision-makers with timely, accurate, clear, and concise reporting. SOOs also provide detailed knowledge of cases and demonstrate objective analysis to specific operations that result in assessments and recommendations for collection requirements and operational testing methodology. SOOs will utilize client-specific databases to conduct multiple layers of research and write summaries, reports, official correspondence, and guidance. Daily activities include:
- Guide collection and dissemination by serving as the bridge between the client and the broader community
- Draft questions and areas for follow-up and work with the client to draft reports that convey the information accurately and clearly
- Provide operational guidance for on-going cases, ensuring any CI issues are identified to protect the client's personnel and facilities
- Establish and identify intelligence collection requirements, validate sources and evaluate intelligence production
- Provide briefings on cases to senior officials and identifying potential issues
Qualifications
Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience
- TS/SCI with Polygraph required
- 5 years of experience as a Staff Operations Officer
- Bachelor's degree is required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- SOO Certification is a plus
- Ability to plan and organize tasks independently
- Exercise sound operational judgment
- Strong written and oral communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to pose creative solutions to operational challenges
