Description

SAIC is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the Department of the Air Force (DAF) Command, Control, Communications, and Battle Management (C3BM) office. This role will provide engineering expertise to support acquisition, development, and programmatic activities for an enterprise-wide program that directly supports warfighter operations. Responsibilities include conducting technical analysis of reported issues, reviewing technical reports, and delivering engineering recommendations for corrective actions. The Senior Systems Engineer will play a key role in requirements management, overseeing all phases from requirements development through design, testing, operations, and sustainment. This position may also serve as the focal point for resolving engineering challenges. Work will be a hybrid mix of onsite and remote, contingent upon contract award. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and eligible for a DoD Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.

In this role, the Systems Engineer will coordinate and integrate technical efforts across a multifaceted team, ensuring compatibility of all functional and physical interfaces while meeting lifecycle optimization goals. The engineer will drive efforts to confirm that system definitions, designs, and solutions align with requirements across various system elements, including hardware, software, and data. Responsibilities also include leading technical problem-solving, participating in risk management and configuration management, preparing technical documentation (e.g., SERDs, SECLs, and change management), and contributing to trade studies and performance evaluations. Collaboration with program offices, fleet organizations, industry stakeholders, and leadership is critical to ensure the delivery of capability-oriented solutions within schedule and budget constraints. This position offers an excellent opportunity to influence lifecycle-optimized systems that meet critical mission objectives.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferred disciplines include Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Computer) and bring a minimum of 10 years of acquisition experience in the field of systems engineering, with an emphasis on requirements management and verification. Familiarity with the Department of the Air Force (DAF) Systems Engineering Process and related engineering policies and procedures is essential. Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse stakeholders, including those with varying levels of technical expertise and perspectives. US Citizenship, and an active Secret clearance is required, with eligibility up to TS/SCI.
