SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the NRO Commercial System Program Office (CSPO). This is a Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support position to assist in defining the future combined IC/DoD Government and commercial space architecture. The candidate will evaluate and report on the current DoD and IC use of commercial space providers and help inform gaps in industry-provided commercial space capabilities. Qualified candidates must possess demonstrated satellite experience and be able to provide technical and programmatic insight on the wide variety of satellite capabilities & activities. The successful candidate will work both independently and in a team-based environment.
Key duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Directly support CSPO as the office responsible for commercial overhead data acquisition for the NRO.
- Support the CSPO execute their responsibilities in leading the Enterprise Commercial Consortium (ECC) which is the NRO's “Front Door” for engagement with Commercial satellite data providers.
- Prepares NRO industry engagement written materials for conferences and other externally facing engagements.
- Prepares an assessment of the commercial data provider marketplace and create opportunities for direct engagements with commercial providers in a variety of virtual and in-person forums.
- Prepares and documents findings related to commercial data provider marketplace capabilities & technologies.
- In response to NRO Directorate market research needs, provides timely and relevant reports and briefings to NRO Directorates on commercial data provider capabilities.
- Liaises and coordinates across NRO Directorates/Organizations to research, gather, conceptualize, identify, and capture architecture and data requirements.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Engineering (preferred); or Science, Space related field.
- 5 or more years of Space systems engineering experience.
- Proven technical expertise and communications skills that demonstrate the ability to interface with all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct analysis and evaluations - making recommendations and providing professional advice and assistance to include preparing research reports and presentation briefings.
- Ability to apply technical expertise and summarize information/findings for presentation to Government leadership.
Desired Qualifications:
- 7 or more years of Space systems engineering experience.
- Current understanding of Commercial Space provider marketplace and current satellite capabilities.
