SAIC is seeking a Technical Trainer in Bedford, IN, to supervise and lead our Light Tactical Vehicle Curriculum Development team. This role involves providing oversight and development of curriculum for Operator/Maintenance Training on Medium and Light Tactical Vehicle Platforms in support of Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane tasking portfolio.
 

JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Supervision and Leadership: Act as the primary representative for curriculum development with responsibility for implementation and optimization of assigned curriculum deliverables. This includes leading a team of instructional systems designers, illustrators, and curriculum developers, ensuring efficient development of curriculum and curriculum products. 

• Primary Point of Contact: Serve as the primary point of contact for LTV Curriculum Development to the Training Manager, Logistics & Training Dev Lead, and TI Lead to ensure  clear communication and coordination between Crane and SAIC leadership.

• Technical Oversight: Review Government Furnished Information and technical documentation for implementation into or creation of curriculum. Provide critical analysis for training curriculum and quality improvement. 

• Product Improvement and Feedback: Identify areas requiring product improvement, provide feedback regarding product problems and suggest solutions, which may require more complex problem solving. 

• Schedule Management: Manage and coordinate assignments of team personnel to ensure efficiency and timely deliverables. Tracks status of deliverables and reports events that may impact schedule.   

• Report and Presentation Preparation: Prepare and conduct reports and presentations pertinent to company products and services, field operations, or other applications. 

• Training and Development: Develops, directs, plans and evaluates curriculum to meet external customer or internal employee learning objectives. Assignments may include needs analysis, custom course development, development of criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of course objectives, and evaluation and learning assessments. Collaborates with customer or internal functional team to develop, enhance, and/or evaluate new or existing learning objectives and course content. May create course content, training materials, visual aids and documentation to support a variety of instructional formats such as lecture, lab exercises, field training, computer-based training (CBT), and/or web-based training (WBT). May develop exam materials and may be responsible for qualitative evaluation of participant's attainment of learning objectives. May also perform post-training follow up to determine applicability of course material or training approaches. Tracks status of deliverables and reports events that may impact schedule.  (It should be understood that this is not intended to be a detailed nor comprehensive description of any individual employee's job content. • Scope and Objectives: Receive assignments in the form of objectives with defined goals and processes to meet those goals. 

• Direct Supervision: Directly supervise individual contributors (instructional systems designers, illustrators, curriculum developers) who exercise discretion and independent judgment performing assignments. 

• Knowledge/Skills and Ability: Frequent use and application of industry practices, techniques, and standards. General application of concepts and principles. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet outlined objectives. 

• Problem Complexity: Participates in the development of solutions to a variety of problems moderate in scope and complexity. Often refers to policies, procedures and practices for guidance. 

• Freedom to Act: Works under general direction on routine work. May receive detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. Follows established procedures. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy.

• Impact: Contributes to the completion of organizational projects and goals. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would normally require a moderate expenditure of resources to correct. 

• Liaison: Frequent internal company and external contacts. Represents organization on specific projects.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:
•Educational Background: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in Technical Manual or Curriculum creation and maintenance for the DOD.

• Must have one year  of experience leading a team on a curriculum or technical publication effort.

• Must be proficient in sequential graphical planning (storyboarding).

• Must be proficient with computers and experience in Microsoft Office programs to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project and Outlook. 

• Self-motivated and able to work independently and also in a team environment. 

• Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task supporting multiple customers both internal and external. 

• Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance, with an Interim Secret needed to start (SAIC will sponsor the clearance process). 

• Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen. 

•Work Hours Flexibility: Availability for extended or weekend hours, and short-notice assignments, including holidays. 

•Technical Documentation: Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, handbooks, schematics, and blueprints. 

•Data Management: Proficiency in tracking status of and changes to curriculum, documents, and personnel. 

•Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication abilities. 

•Passport Requirement: Must have a valid passport and be prepared to travel as necessary, up to 10%.
 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
•Physical Demands: Capability to lift/push/pull/carry up to 15 pounds unassisted regularly. 

•Vehicle Accessibility: Ability to lead and assist with tasks in confined spaces within tactical vehicles. 

•Mobility: Able to walk, bend, stoop, sit, stand, or squat for extended periods.
 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Active Security Clearance: Currently holds an active Secret Clearance. 

• Proficient in the use of 3d CAD applications. 

• Proficient in Adobe applications to include Photoshop and Illustrator. 

• Experience with User Interface design and development. 

• Experience with game design and gamification.
