SAIC's National Intelligence Community (NIC) Business Unit, USG Mission, and Information Technology Division, provides solutions and services supporting digital modernization programs in areas such as systems engineering, multi-cloud computing, cybersecurity, data science and analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, quantum computing, application development, DevSecOps, cloud network operations, and secure communications.
We are seeking a highly motivated UI/UX Developer with a strong background analytical and software capabilities to join our National Intelligence Program. The candidate will provide usability analysis that leads to intuitive interfaces that improve the user experience for the applications and services.
This position can be in Herndon, VA, McLean, VA or Chantilly, VA and requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
Key Responsibilities:

Create, promote, and support standards for usability excellence.

Develop and publish usability guidelines.

Create user interface designs, prototypes and specifications across multiple platforms.

Create conceptual interaction design models including wireframes, site maps, diagrams/schematics, process maps, feature lists, mock-ups, visual specification, working prototypes and other artifacts to describe the intended user experience.

Advocate for best practices and be proactive in proposing improvements in design, function and features as well as sharing knowledge, research and experience.

Leverage Human Centered Design principles whenever feasible.

The UI/IX activities will comply with accessibility standards for IT services and Accessibility Standards and Accessibility Test Criteria.
Qualifications
Required:
-
Proficiency in creating user-centric designs, understanding user behavior, and developing intuitive interfaces.

Ability to develop usability standards and guidelines that promote excellence.

Competence in creating a range of UX deliverables: wireframes, site maps, process maps, feature lists, mock-ups, visual specifications, and prototypes.

Experience with interaction design and information architecture.

Knowledge of Human Center Design (HCD) principles to ensure that designs are tailored to meet user needs.

Familiarity with IT accessibility standards, such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) or those specific to the sponsoring organization.

Ability to use accessibility evaluation tools and methods to assess compliance.

Ability to establish and measure key usability metrics.

Experience with reporting tools and protocols, especially for documenting accessibility compliance.

Understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) and where UX fits within them.
