Introduction

Make a difference for national security by joining a team of dedicated IT professionals who will sustain, modernize and transform the enterprise IT capabilities of the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).  The Air Force and Combatant Commands Business Group of SAIC is seeking a VMware System Administrator to support a transformational infrastructure program for DCSA.

SAIC is proud to be supporting DCSA in safeguarding our nation's information.  DCSA is the designated oversight authority on the accreditation of classified facilities, information systems, and the insider threat program.  This involves security oversight of more than 10,000 companies and approximately 13,000 facilities involved in classified work throughout the DoD and 31 Federal agencies.

Specifically, on the DCSA One IT program, SAIC will provide an enterprise IT solution that delivers highly secured and adaptable IT infrastructure, provides customer support, and cutting-edge technologies that support operations and advance the DCSA mission under a single IT environment (i.e., One IT).

Job Description

• Perform the planning and the coordination of installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance and administration of complex virtualized environments consisting of Microsoft Windows Server and RHEL Server Operating Systems.
• Plan and schedule the installation of new or modified hardware and operating systems and applications software.
• Manage systems resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability; implementing security procedures and tools.
• Develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Resolve hardware/software interface and interoperability problems within the virtualized environment.
• Ensure systems availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency.
• Maintain systems configuration.
• Manage the installation and integration of systems fixes, updates, and enhancements; and/or ensure the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of systems administration services
• Implement DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) across an ESXi and VDI environment.
• Conduct vulnerability management, patching, and remediation.
• Provide system administration services for all virtualized servers, virtual storage area networks (vSANs), and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI).
• Manage virtual environment; perform log analysis, error detection, fault correction; perform startup and shutdown of the systems as required.
• Build, configure, patch, and upgrade virtualized servers, operating systems, and server applications as required and/or mandated by IAVA/IAVB following the STIG and industry best practices.
• Develop and implement plans as a continuous process for the integration of new virtualized server and client software and provide technical advice on new requirements.
• Perform system-level design and configuration of products to support virtualized environments including determination of hardware, operating system, platform specifications, and various systems engineering tasks and activities that are broad in scope.
• Develop SOPs and provide updates quarterly or as tasked.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

It is required that the VMware System Administrator have the following qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems or Computer Science.
  • Nine (9) or more years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and years of service.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Experience and mastery knowledge of vSAN, vCenter, and vSphere 8.x including advanced features such as vMotion, High Availability, REST APIs, and Integrated Containers.
  • Experience and knowledge of UNIX-based operating systems and Windows Server Operating Systems including Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, DHCP and DNS.

Desired Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI.
  • Ability to create and modify scripts in multiple disciplines on Windows and Linux systems.
  • Knowledge of the Customer's processes and procedures and of the Customer's production systems a plus.
  • Prefer skills in one or more of the following areas: Windows server, Red Hat and SQL.
  • General knowledge of database administration, network administration and possess network configuration management skills.
  • VDI Administrator to include managing images, creating pools and maintaining policies.
