Provide Systems Administration for the integration of a large enterprise system as part of a complex Cisco distributed team environment. Provides systems integration utilizing Cisco technologies and ability to implement the latest network technologies such as VOIP, VPN, routing and switching, IDS, Session Border Controllers, Content Switching, Load Balancing, and enterprise class switching. Required to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Cisco VOIP/ Network equipment on the LAN/WAN, test and turn up data circuits, SIP trunks, PRI's and network links in Cisco Routers, switches, wireless access points and Voice Gateways. Provides Cisco systems integration support, develops network, designs, and documents the execution of complex installation procedures. Capable of reviewing, evaluating, and deriving requirements for installation and deployments across Cisco network with the ability to design and document integration and deployment plans. Perform analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive network and VoIP system-level evaluation metrics reports which verify and validate network performance. Writes discrepancy reports and performs integration regression testing to verify incorporated fixes to network, components, subsystems, and systems. Ability to interfaces with all levels of program management, engineering and customers, and travel to deployment sites as required.

Description of Duties:

  • Evaluates, designs, documents, installs, implements, tests, and performs problem isolation and resolution, monitors, tunes, sets standards, and maintains a range of network and voice components and systems.

  • Performs these functions across some, but not all, physical media, Operating Systems, File Systems, protocol stacks & network components.

  • Provides client consulting and training on the design and use of the network systems and architectures.

  • Plans, researches, evaluates, and recommends new storage area network equipment and related technologies.

  • Uses monitoring, performance analysis, network management, software, and hardware equipment to troubleshoot and isolate problems, gauge performance and activity.

  • Devises solutions to operational problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment.

  • May develop and execute contingency plans for network related hardware failures including isolated and major outages.

  • Provides internal consulting, technical guidance, information and support to application developers, computer operations, workstation support, management, and departmental clients.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a computer science/computer engineering related discipline; may accept additional experience in lieu of degree.

  • 10 years IT network engineering support experience (Tier II, Tier III, network infrastructure implementation and maintenance)

  • Expert experience in one or more of the following: Unclassified Voice Systems, Secure Voice Systems to include red switch, TDM Switching, Voice Over IP (VOIP)

  • Experience supporting the government customers in secure environments, familiarity of NIPRNET and SIPRNET operating standards and applicable guidelines.

  • Firsthand experience in developing and providing quality assurance review of engineering change orders relating to the replacement or enhancement of perimeter security hardware and software.

  • Experienced with performing root cause analysis, risk identification, and risk mitigation.

  • Expert Knowledge of cabling standards, fiber optic and copper cable termination.

  • Management of personnel supporting large government customers.

Clearance Requirements:

  • US Citizenship

  • Active top secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.  Must have held an SCI clearance within the past 3 years.

Desired Experience/Skills/Attributes:

  • ITIL ® Foundation certification

  • Certifications: Network +, Cisco CCNA, Cisco CCNP, CCVP, Aruba or equivalent, BICSI Certifications

  • Familiarity with DoS environment (data and voice networks, IT security systems, policies, and procedures), Foreign Affairs Handbooks (FAHs), Foreign Affairs Manuals (FAMs)

  • Interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate effectively, self-awareness, and excellent written and oral communications.

 


Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
