San Diego Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists is seeking a dynamic and energetic Otolaryngologist to join our rapidly growing and busy practice in Carlsbad, California.
At San Diego Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists, our team comprises board-certified and fellowship-trained physicians, audiologists, and clinical and administrative staff dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and customer service.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will be focused on delivering excellent patient care and managing the full spectrum of otolaryngologic conditions. Applicants must have completed a residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and be eligible for an unrestricted California medical license.
Responsibilities:
- Provide appropriate and timely documentation of clinical care.
- Accurately code and bill per established protocols.
- Educate patients, their families, and others to increase their understanding of medical conditions and treatments.
- Train other staff members in areas of clinical expertise.
- Ensure care is provided with consideration of healthcare access, fiscal responsibility, efficacy, and quality.
- Advocate for patient safety and rights.
- Maintain confidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA.
- Diagnose and treat ear, nose, and throat disorders, and head and neck diseases.
- Perform head and neck surgeries and manage pre- and post-operative care.
- Order and interpret tests and exams to ensure complete patient care.
- Develop and implement care plans based on patient assessments.
- Use advanced specialty knowledge to provide appropriate, effective, timely, and cost-efficient care.
- Analyze and interpret relevant data to meet individual patient needs and adhere to professionally recognized standards of care.
- Ability to multitask and work as part of a patient care team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, physicians, management, and staff.
- Demonstrate sound judgment and composure in emergency situations.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records.
- Experience in developing and maintaining quality assurance practices.
- Stay current with trends in healthcare practice and participate in continuing medical education.
- Network with referring providers and external representatives.
- Completed an accredited residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery.
- At least 2 years of experience in Otolaryngology.
- Current unrestricted medical license to practice in California.
