These are just a few of the benefits you can expect from working with Savage: Excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, PTO, Holidays, Profit Sharing, and 401(k) with match Uniform Services Time Off (USTO) Uniform Services Differential Pay A culture that appreciates Team Members Opportunities for personal growth and development with a world-class organization What you'll be doing: Conduct locomotive mechanical and electrical maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting to ensure safe and efficient operations Inspect, maintain, and repair diesel engines, air brake systems, electrical components, and running gear Perform periodic inspections and interpret oil sample results Weld and use cutting torches to repair or modify locomotive equipment Conduct daily inspections and servicing of locomotives Maintain compliance with all railroad safety and regulatory requirements Support transportation maintenance and operations as needed Requirements to be successful in this position: Minimum of 10 years' experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing EMD locomotives preferred Rail industry experience required High school diploma or GED required Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and troubleshooting AC/DC circuits Familiarity with EMD 90 and 190 manuals Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL license Willingness to work in all weather conditions and respond to on-call mechanical or electrical emergencies (24/7 availability) Commitment to working safely, utilizing PPE, and following all company safety practices Here are some of the physical requirements for this role: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and traverse uneven ground Exposure to outdoor and industrial environments, including harsh weather and high or elevated areas Ability to lift and maneuver components up to 50 lbs Work safely around rail and industrial operations while ensuring compliance with FRA and TC regulations #IND1
