Savage is looking for an experienced Operations Manager who will lead a specialized team in the planning, organization, and management of our coke handling operation and maintenance in Port Arthur, TX 

As an Operations Manager at Savage, you will manage your operation as your own business encompassed by our operating framework, S7 Delivery System. The successful candidate must be team-oriented, have strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for detail to ensure handling of coke in our customers' facility.

  • Must have contract understanding and execution
  • Manage and maintain customer relationships
  • Manage hiring, training, leadership and team building of operation
  • Manage safety & environmental issues, professionalism & cleanliness of operation
  • Planning & productivity (effective utilization of people and equipment)
  • Oversee maintenance of equipment and facilities; project management
  • Responsible for profit and loss, budgeting, planning and projecting
  • Ability to travel on occasion
  • Basic understanding of material handling facilities and equipment including the associated components and maintenance thereof
  • Experience with project management and/or engineering.
  • Knowledge of computers and related hardware/software; knowledge of computer networks and programmable logic controllers a plus
  • Able to see the “big picture”
  • Understanding of heavy, industrial equipment from an operating, maintenance and safety perspective
  • Ability to manage projects from conception to final commissioning
  • Experience with a computerized maintenance management system required.
  • Willing to study and learn new technical skills and techniques

Physical requirements for this role

  • The person should be in good physical condition. 
  • Some of the work will be outdoors working alongside field personnel, climbing stairs, ladders and on and off material handling equipment
