As a Crane Operator, you will safely operate a mobile crane equipped with a clamshell bucket to transfer bulk materials into a conveyor-fed hopper for barge loading or other modes of transportation. Uniform Services Time Off (USTO) Uniform Services Differential Pay A culture that appreciates Team Members What you'll be doing: Safely operate a mobile dock crane and clamshell bucket to load and unload bulk materials. Work collaboratively with other Crane Operators to efficiently load and unload ocean-going vessels. Maintain proper rigging storage and ensure all lifting equipment is safely secured and inspected. Perform thorough pre-operational and post-operational inspections of cranes and assigned equipment. Promptly report equipment deficiencies, mechanical issues, and maintenance needs. Assist Maintenance personnel with equipment repairs and preventive maintenance as needed. Maintain clear and effective communication with Team Members, Supervisors, Managers, and Maintenance personnel using radios and other communication methods. Complete all required documentation, including equipment inspection forms, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, operational logs, audit sheets, and daily checklists. Maintain clean and organized work areas, including crane cabs, equipment, structures, offices, break rooms, vehicles, and surrounding work areas. Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Participate in ongoing training and learn additional operational responsibilities as assigned. Support operational needs by performing other duties as required. Preferred Qualifications: Experience operating bulk material handling equipment. Knowledge of conveyor systems and bulk loading operations. Experience working in refinery, chemical plant, or marine terminal operations. Familiarity with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), work permits, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and industrial safety programs. Experience loading railcars, barges, or ocean-going vessels. A positive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement. High school diploma or GED. Current TWIC card or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire. Experience operating mobile dock cranes or similar heavy lifting equipment. Experience operating clamshell buckets or comparable material handling attachments. Experience operating heavy equipment such as front-end loaders, excavators, dozers, backhoes, or material handlers. Previous experience working in an industrial, refinery, marine terminal, construction, or heavy industrial environment. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify equipment issues and assist with troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Ability to safely manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Commitment to maintaining a strong safety culture. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical examination, and criminal background check. Here are some of the physical requirements for this role: Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Climb ladders and access elevated work areas. Work safely at heights. Stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, and crawl throughout the workday. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and humidity. Safely enter and exit heavy equipment multiple times during a shift. Physically handle large tools and equipment.
