Job SummaryThe successful candidate will support and mentor the Savage team as well as be a key part of the local leadership team. It's expected that this person demonstrates experience and capability to problem solve, has excellent written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrates stewardship while delivering key results.   These are just a few of the benefits you can expect from working with Savage: A culture that appreciates our Team Members Paid Time Off (“PTO”) and paid holidays Profit Sharing Excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k)  Paid Parental and Uniformed Services leave What You'll Be Doing: Mentor and coach a workforce to be skilled in rail operation and the transloading of polyethylene products, including the development and execution of site-specific procedures Spend up to 50 - 60% field time in the operation, observing and working alongside team members as they load railcars and perform rail-related activities Work with the Team Members to ensure work activities are performed safely and healthily in compliance with Savage applicable policies, regulatory obligations, and customer requirements Establish a trusting relationship between Savage, the customer, and regulators in a way that creates value and provides an opportunity to elevate our relationship with them and other terminal customers Provide leadership and coaching in the execution of the Savage System, including all elements of the S7 On-boarding and developing the transloading and rail operations teams ensure their specific needs are met and provide team members with opportunities for growth Maintain standard Rail operating procedures and Safety Management System to ensure the terminal meets all regulatory requirements Work with the Shift Supervisors and leadership team to promote Safety including strengthening and empowering the Safety Specialist Team Define goals with the customer and leadership team and formalize them. Some potential areas include emergency response planning, helping with hazard IDs, and supporting Incident investigations collaboratively What You Need to Be Successful: Proven ability to analyze situations and data to make sound decisions. Comfortable in front of a group: whether it's training frontline team members or presenting a safety plan of action to a potential customer. Proficient in MS Office Suite with the ability to navigate Savage's internal reporting system for statistical analysis Excellent written communication skills for writing reports, training, proposals, and more A desire to work in the field alongside operators, in an industrial environment       Comfortable working in an industrial /refinery environment and the hazards that accompany it; exposure to all weather elements, climbing on top of and underneath railcars, lifting 40+ lbs., walking long distances on uneven ground, and more Can travel on occasion and for extended periods Preferred Education/Experience: BA/BS preferred but not required Rail Operation knowledge a plus Minimum of two years as a safety professional in a refinery, oil and gas, or other industrial environment   #IND1
