The Indirect Category Buyer is responsible for purchasing processes related to the acquisition of goods and indirect materials (MRO) needed to supply and support the entire operation. The position executes negotiations, receives quotes, and shares purchasing plans and options with stakeholder groups.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Analyze purchase requisitions for indirect materials (MRO), issue orders, define priorities and delivery times
- Implement and conduct procurement strategies for indirect categories (maintenance, consumables, project items, fixed assets, among others)
- Develop periodic supply contracts for items of constant consumption, achieving better commercial conditions, cost optimization, and superior quality of service
- Ensuring that all purchases are conducted in accordance with the Purchasing Policy, with appropriate documentation and processes
- Execute the quotation and negotiation process for all indirect material purchases
- Conduct market analysis and monitoring to ensure the execution of strategic sourcing
- Monitor and ensure on-time deliveries to prevent impact to day-to-day operations and project timelines
- Identify potential suppliers and conduct evaluations to ensure the selection of high-quality companies with competitive costs while meeting internal quality and supplier policy requirements
- Monitor the supplier's performance and anticipate any problems or concerns that may arise from cross-functional stakeholder groups
- Keep up to date with market trends and best practices in the sector to drive continuous improvement in processes
- Ensure compliance with relevant procurement policies, procedures and regulations;
- Take advantage of existing synergies in the purchasing area, with a view to reduce costs and optimize processes;
- Maintain an accurate register of current suppliers and service providers
Key Ingredients:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, or Engineering
- 3-5 years of indirect purchasing experience in a mid to large-sized manufacturing facility.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Portuguese and English fluency required
- Knowledge of Power PI and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of local and federal statutory requirements
- Strong negotiation skills
- Knowledge of TOTVs purchasing and materials module preferred
