Machine Operator (Claxton)

Carthage, Missouri Plant on Claxton Ave

Earn up to $28.77 per hour in 24 months​

Evening Shift: (C shift) Monday- Friday, 3pm- 11pm

Positions to Fill: Shred Hayssen Operator- (C shift) Monday- Friday evenings, 3pm- 11pm

Pay Scale:

  • Starting wage: $23.58 per hour
  • 24 month top out: $27.77 per hour
  • Shift differential: additional $1.00 per hour

This position requires passing Bennett Mechanical Test prior to an interview. 

Job Description/ Responsibilities:

  • All Hayssen machines are used in the packaging and code dating on natural and imitation cheese products within the Shred department. 
  • Work with Leaders and fellow partners to ensure Food Safety and Partner Safety.
  • Understand and execute standard operating procedures relative to position.
  • Perform all PCP and CCP checks required for position.
  • Follow reaction plan for Food Safety, Food Quality and customer requirement outages and by contacting TA/TL.
  • Be able to identify and understand customer requirements and assist in assuring proper operation and product.
  • Record accurate data on production reports.

  • Responsible for the efficient operation of Hayssen machines within the Shred department according to department procedures. 
  • Log foil usage. 
  • Conducts leaker and oxygen checks. 
  • Performs miscellaneous housekeeping duties to maintain a high degree of good manufacturing practices.  Keep area FDA, USDA ready at all times. 
  • Peel and rerun rejects. 
  • Assist other areas within the department as needed. 
  • Informs maintenance of needed repairs to filling equipment and assists maintenance as needed. 
  • Maintain all on-line production records, process control points and information as needed. 
  • Other duties as assigned by TL/TA. 
  • Must be able to work overtime or weekends. 
  • Participate on the teams as requested (SPS, PSCs, Kaizens). 
  • Ability to pass a 20-day training/evaluation period. 
  • Ability to read a production schedule. 
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions. 
  • Ability to perform a moderate amount of paperwork. 
  • Must be able to work other shifts as needed. 
This job requires a 2 year bid commitment.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have the ability to read, understand and follow written procedures.
  • Proficiency in reading and comprehension of the English language is required.
  • At least two years of manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • This job may require you to operate an electronic pallet jack or forklift and work in cold or hot conditions.
  • This position requires passing a post-offer background check, physical and drug screen.
