Forklift Operator operates powered industrial equipment to receive, store, move, and stage materials in support of plant production and warehouse operations. This role ensures accurate material handling, inventory rotation, food safety compliance, and timely delivery of materials required to support production flow.

What you'll do
  • Receive, warehouse, and stage incoming materials such as ingredients, packaging, pallets, and finished goods
  • Deliver materials required to support production lines in a timely and accurate manner
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely in accordance with standard procedures
  • Rotate inventory and maintain organized storage areas, including cooler and bulk storage locations
  • Prepare and load outbound materials including trim, scrap, and salvage
  • Perform cycle counts and assist with finished goods inventory activities
  • Use scanning and basic system tools for material tracking and traceability
  • Read and follow production orders, material requests, and work instructions
  • Support assembly and disassembly activities in production areas as assigned
  • Maintain proper hygiene, housekeeping, and equipment cleanliness
  • Follow food safety plans, GMPs, PCP/CCP requirements, and safety procedures
  • Record accurate data on production and material handling reports
  • Report issues, shortages, or discrepancies and escalate as needed
  • Perform additional material handling or production support tasks as assigned
What you will need to succeed
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1–3 years of experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or performing material handling in manufacturing or production environments
  • Experience handling food or packaging materials in a regulated environment
  • Ability to read and follow production orders and work instructions
  • Basic computer skills for scanning, inventory transactions, and documentation
  • Basic math skills for quantities, weights, and order accuracy
  • Ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and food quality
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
