The Senior Manager, Logistics and Warehouse is responsible for leading the end-to-end logistics, distribution, warehousing, import, and export operations for Mexico. This role ensures the safe, compliant, cost-effective, and efficient flow of materials and finished goods across the supply chain while supporting business growth and customer service objectives.
This position provides strategic and operational leadership for both internal and third-party warehouse operations, transportation management, customs compliance, import/export administration, inventory control, and distribution network optimization. The role partners closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Procurement, Finance, Quality, and external logistics providers to ensure uninterrupted product availability and regulatory compliance.
What you'll do:
- Develop and execute the Mexico logistics and warehousing strategy aligned with business objectives and service requirements.
- Lead transportation, distribution, warehousing, and logistics operations to optimize cost, service, and inventory performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve service levels, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.
- Develop and monitor logistics KPIs and establish corrective action plans when performance gaps exist.
- Ensure business continuity through effective risk management and contingency planning.
- Provide oversight of all company-operated and third-party warehouse facilities.
- Establish operational standards, inventory control processes, and storage practices that ensure product integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Lead warehouse capacity planning and network optimization efforts.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, environmental, and occupational safety standards.
- Oversee all import and export activities to ensure compliance with Mexican customs regulations and international trade requirements.
- Manage customs brokers, freight forwarders, and trade compliance providers.
- Ensure proper administration and retention of import/export documentation.
- Coordinate permits, certifications, licenses, and regulatory authorizations required for cross-border product movement.
- Maintain compliance with SAT, customs authorities, trade agreements, and applicable governmental regulations including the management of operational adjustments due to trade regulation changes.
- Direct transportation planning and execution to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and finished products.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements to optimize cost and service performance.
- Monitor freight spend and implement initiatives to improve transportation efficiency.
- Lead and develop a team of logistics, warehouse, and distribution professionals.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related field
- 10+ years of experience in logistics, warehousing, transportation, distribution, or supply chain operations with experience leading a team of professionals
- Knowledge of customs regulations, import/export processes, and international trade compliance
- Strong financial and business acumen
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience managing third-party logistics providers
- Experience with ERP and warehouse management systems
