- Certification Details
- Certs: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Prior to acceptance, Dysrhythmia (Basic) Exam through RELIAS is required.
- Two attempts for Dysrhythmia Exam allowed.
- Job Details
- Telemetry RN needed for a travel contract.
- 2 years of experience required.
- The right candidate will hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIH and CA License.
- Schedule Information
- Shifts: 12 hr shifts.
- Shift starts 645.
- Report is at the bedside.
- OT and extra shifts are available.
- Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it.
- Schedules are out 4 weeks.
- Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves 'available' for extra shifts and make trades with other staff.
- Block scheduling is generally not available.
- Floor specific orientation: 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor.
- Unit Specific Information
- Unit: Telemetry 2 South
- Beds: 14 South, 8 East.
- Ratios: 1:4
- Charge Nurse: Yes, generally does not take patients, but will do break relief.
- Nurse Aides: Yes as census and staffing dictates. 1-2 normally.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holidays: Rotate in with core staff
- Scrub Color: Navy - under shirts must be navy, white, or black.
- Tele: Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.
- Vents: No
- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes
- IV Team: No
- RT 24/7: Yes
- Pharmacy 24/7: Yes
- Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Cardiac patient focus, general overflow.
- Stable non-titrating Cardizem, Amio, Heparin.
- Must be flexible team member.
- Charge RN rounds with interdiciplinary team.
- Additional Details
- Modules are required to be done before start of assignment.
- Modules take on average 3-4 hours to complete-this time is not billable to the hospital.
- COVID requirements include medical or religious declinations.
