Position Summary:
The position of EHS Manager performs a variety of functions to assist in maintaining and preserving the health and safety of employees as well as the environment for the locations assigned. This individual will be responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of existing systems related to plant safety, process safety management, environmental control processes, regulatory compliance and training. Will report to the Director, U.S. Environmental Health and Safety.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Regular on-site attendance is a necessary function of this position. Must have the ability to travel to all assigned locations.
- Lead workers compensation administration duties for locations including claim reporting, injury investigation, claim management.
- Manage Hazardous Waste Compliance in accordance with RCRA and state rules.
- Manage sewer discharge permit requirements in accordance with state and local requirements.
- Manage all environmental management and compliance programs such as air emissions, Stormwater discharges, SPCC and tank compliance in accordance with local, state, federal rules and company policies.
- Manage Process Safety Management Program in accordance 29 CFR 1919.119.
- Maintain existing environmental permits such as for Air emissions, wastewater discharge and recommend amendments when appropriate.
- Provide, manage and ensure tracking of safety training as required including lead awareness, respiratory protection, safety orientation, LO/TO, hearing conservation, PIT, and bloodborne pathogens.
- Manage annual testing requirements including audiograms, blood lead/ZPP, DOT, PIT and Respiratory Protection requirements.
- Manage ammunition and energetics EHS programs.
- Enforces company EHS policies.
- Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal EHS regulations including but not limited to OSHA, NHDES, EPA, Health and Human Services, NRC, DOT, DOL.
- Ensures compliance with DOD 4145.26-M Contractors Safety Manual for Ammunition and Explosives and leads Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) inspections.
- May hold position of Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) and implements radiation safety program.
- May hold position of Laser Safety Officer (LSO) and implements laser safety program
- Performs office duties.
- Ensure all EHS inspections are performed and documented.
- May be facility emergency coordinator: must be able to respond within one hour of notification.
- Manage any direct reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor Degree in Safety, Environmental Sciences and/or equivalent degree or equivalent experience
- 5-10 years' experience
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to read and understand directions and work instructions in English.
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Results driven individual who has demonstrated the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Displays a customer focused work ethic with the ability to interact with all levels of employees.
Working Conditions:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.
- Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
- Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates.
