The Finishing Lead will be part of the Print Finishing Team that ensures only the best products are made and will provide leadership for meeting specifications in product quality, safety, team building, continuous improvement, and effective use of machines - operationally and mechanically. Every day we bring our customers' labels and packaging to life, creating a customer experience that is second to none, and enabling them to stand out over the competition. Shift Schedule: Monday-Wednesday, 9am-9:15pm or TBD

Overtime is paid after 40 hours; typical OT available is at least one shift per month

Key Responsibilities for Finishing Lead include:

  • Providing leadership for meeting specifications in product quality
  • Training and overseeing thorough inspection of completed labels for errors and defects
  • Identifying, recommending, and leading in areas for Lean improvement/modification
  • Supervising and performing work based on finishing spec sheet and priorities assigned by the Finishing Supervisor
  • Preparing and maintaining appropriate documentation for assigned finishing tasks
  • Leading a strong safety culture, focused on accountability, engagement, and recognition

 

The ideal candidate must demonstrate:

  • Strong leadership including the ability to mentor, guide, motivate, and train a diverse team of people to develop and elevate customer service levels across the organization
  • Ability to manage time effectively on multiple long- and short-term projects, meeting all related deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and relationship-building skills to effectively work with a diverse group/variety of people and personalities
  • High levels of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquires and needs of individuals, both internal and external to the organization

 

Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Required: High school or Vocational/Technical degree
  • Required: 2+ years' printing experience, preferably in the flexographic print industry
  • Required: Mechanical aptitude
  • Required: 1+ years' experience in a front-line supervisor role
  • Preferred: Experience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, ISO quality systems, and the practices of Lean Six Sigma principles
