The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division (JOID) provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues. The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group (ATAG) within JOID specializes in the application of multi-disciplinary analytic skills to support multiple clients within the DoD. These clients include the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)), DARPA, Joint Staff, and USINDOPACOM. SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future. We have an immediate need for a Defense Acquisition Analyst to provide onsite support out of Arlington, VA (Pentagon) and Alexandria, VA (Mark Center). Qualifications Required: Bachelors' degree and 10+ years of experience working in Defense Acquisition developing program schedules, cost estimates and progress reviews OR a Master's degree and 6+ years of experience Experience working in shipyard, depot, or other production center or MILCON projects providing program support for DoD programs Experience briefing, interacting with, and supporting senior leaders Active DoD Secret clearance Able to provide fully onsite support at Pentagon and Mark Center based upon client needs Desired: Master's degree Experience working within Service or Joint headquarters developing and staffing reports, position papers, and presentations Experience responding to legislative inquiries and developing Congressional responses Familiarity with U.S. Federal Government/DoD Contracting Familiarity or experience working on Navy staff/OPNAV, HQMC Staff, or ASN (RDA) staff as a Requirements Officer or Action Officer Experience designing and employing repeatable analytic methods to data (structured and unstructured) and developing data visualization techniques Experience engaging with Industry to determine capability and capacity expectations Active DoD TS/SCI clearance Responsibilities The candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team of Government, Military, and contractor subject matter experts and program support personnel to support clients within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, and Acquisition (OASN(RDA)) and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Navy for Sustainment (DASN(Sustainment)). The candidate will leverage their knowledge and experience of established acquisition processes and procedures to apply rigor to major MILCON projects and provide support to management/senior leaders and decision makers on issues involving oversight of investments in the Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program (SIOP) and other topics, such as Depot revitalization. This role will require drafting and editing reports and presentations to audiences of senior government and industry leaders as well as developing innovative ways of data visualization to assist the decision-making process. Will engage with industry to gather data and develop plans. Apply robust analytical skills, clear communication, attention-to-detail, and the ability to prioritize between long-term tasks and rapid response support. The ability to thrive in the dynamic environment of these high visibility organizations is critical. The candidate will work primarily in the customers' offices in the Pentagon to enable attending meetings and developing products, strategies, and communication plans directly with the customer.
