The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division (JOID) provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues. The Critical Infrastructure Group (CIG) within JOID provides technical, programmatic and analytical support to customers with missions in national security to include the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Group brings technical and operational expertise in fields of countering weapons of mass destruction, critical infrastructure protection, emergency response, nuclear non-proliferation, weapons deployment programs, and transportation safety. In addition to management and advisory services, CIG staff collaborate closely with our clients to provide high-quality modeling, simulation, software, and analytical products to meet the most demanding government standards and timelines. We have an immediate need for a Logistics and Sustainment SME to provide onsite support in Northern VA. Responsibilities The Logistics and Sustainment SME will analyze and support logistics and sustainment (L&S) activities for CBP Programs. The contractor team provides management and oversight of logistics and sustainment requirements for all CBP acquisition programs. The team develops and implements life-cycle sustainment requirements for new technology programs; provides for the management and oversight of systems in the support phase of the system lifecycle; and develops tools and business processes focused on enhancing system performance and reducing system life-cycle costs. This includes managing collaboration with the DHS customer and its internal/external stakeholders to facilitate L&S activity coordination throughout the enterprise. The candidate will provide oversight of activities related to the support development of acquisition, implementation, and sustainment planning activities and documentation including lifecycle logistics policy, Cost-Wise Readiness (CWR) analysis and reviews, Integrated Logistics Support Plans, Logistics Requirements Funding Plans, Life Cycle Cost Estimates (LCCE), and Test and Evaluation Master Plans. Will support the training development for the CBP life cycle logistics workforce. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree. Ability to obtain a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Background Investigation. 10+ years of demonstrated acquisition logistics planning and sustainment experience. Experience managing teams of logistics and sustainment professionals and working with geographically distributed customers and staff. Able to work onsite based on client needs. Desired: Experience directly supporting DHS programs, ideally in border and maritime security mission spaces. DHS Suitability, CBP Background Investigation, and/or Top Secret clearance. Experience with analytical tools and business applications to enhance logistical planning, system performance, and reduce system life-cycle costs.
