Required Qualifications:
- The ability to work onsite, per client request, up to full time
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical or a related field
- 5-9 years in engineering or technical program analysis experience
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, to analyze and represent data and communicate to decision makers
- Current DoD security clearance - minimum Secret, with the ability to maintain it throughout employment
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Duty experience in the submarine service preferred.
- Recent experience working in Team Submarine.
- Experience with and knowledgeable of the Navy requirements and program office organizations and processes.
- Experience working with submarine NPES functions like navigation, communication, sensor data, combat control, and target acquisition.
Responsibilities
The Non-Propulsion Electronic Systems (NPES) Engineer will be on a dynamic team, supporting the Team Submarine COLUMBIA Class Program Office Logistics and Sustainment Group. The COLUMBIA Class Program Office is responsible for the construction of COLUMBIA Class submarines, technical and design management, financial and budget management, shipyard and vendor support of submarines, logistical support, quality assurance (SUBSAFE), and post-delivery submarine certifications and test programs.
In this role, you will 1) Provide engineering and technical support to Project Blue to assist in delivering IT and digital solutions in support of SSBN logistics and deploying IT products to both TRIDENT Refit Facilities (TRF), Electric Boat (EB), and the United Kingdom (UK) DREADNOUGHT program, 2) Provide routine administrative support to the RDT&E Program Manager, including but not limited to scheduling industry days, coordinating with vendors to develop performance work statements, concept of operations, integrated master schedules, etc., 3) Provide engineering and technical analysis pertaining to COLUMBIA NPES to support the development of requirements and programmatic documents (MOUs, SOWs, Project Outlines, etc.) with stakeholders, 4) Provide critical technical and programmatic support in a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency integrated product team of professional acquisition personnel across multiple sites nationwide.
This position is located in the Washington DC Navy Yard, with potential for travel.
Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Washington, D.C. Pay Transparency Range: $120-140k.
