The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues. SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future. SPA has an immediate need for an Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) Analyst to support DARPA's Commercial Strategy team onsite in Arlington, VA. Responsibilities The candidate will conduct open-source research and analysis to assess investor prospects, managers, advisors, and affiliates supporting advanced technology initiatives. Focus is on identifying financial, reputational, and national security risks, including potential adversarial activity, to protect portfolio integrity and program security. This position will apply a blend of financial expertise and OSINT tradecraft to support rigorous due diligence and risk monitoring. Collect and evaluate open-source data to assess investor suitability, and perform continuous vetting of associated parties and monitoring for red flags. Develop and refine OSINT methodologies specific to financial, reputational, and national security risk assessment. Prepare risk assessment reports and briefings, highlighting key findings and recommendations. Analyze venture, private, and growth equity transactions, as well as private credit transactions. Analyze investors in various public and private transactions. Analyze the interplay between investors, board members, board observers, and the various contractual rights held by those parties in the context of financing transactions. Qualifications Required: Active TS/SCI clearance Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, International Relations, or related field 2-8 years of experience performing formal OSINT analyses with a focus on financial analysis, due diligence, risk management, and national security intelligence Strong expertise conducting analysis via OSINT web-based tools including, but not limited to, OSINT Combine, Craft, Spiderfoot, and Blueprint Knowledge of financial markets, private transactions, regulatory frameworks, and national security threat assessments Ability to work onsite full-time in Arlington, VA Desired: Demonstrated understanding of emerging technology trends and their potential impact on financial markets and national security Direct experience supporting advanced technology programs Experience conducting integrated intelligence analysis (combining open-source information with other intelligence disciplines) Employment history at one or more financial institutions (private equity, venture capital, investment, or merchant banks) Proficiency in Mandarin, Russian, and/or Farsi

Qualifications
