The AUKUS, Submarines, and Industrial Base Group (ASIG), within the Sea, Land, Air Division, provides timely, objective, analytic assessments that integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis to DRPM SUBS program offices and key stakeholders surrounding submarine construction, industrial base management and workforce development.  DRPM SUBS unifies submarine program activities, which includes the Columbia-class SSBN program (the Navy's top acquisition priority), the Virginia-class SSN program, the new SSN-X program, and the AUKUS Pillar I trilateral conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarine program to bring improved capabilities to our undersea forces.  Analysts and Engineers supporting DPRM SUBS will continue SPA's decades of support to the SSBN force, as well as supporting oversight of cutting-edge attack submarine construction, assisting in developing the design requirements for the SSN platform of the future, and helping plan and execute new and innovative strategies to strengthen the critical submarine shipbuilding industrial base. These are high-profile, major acquisition and manufacturing programs of significant importance to the future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition.


Responsibilities

In this role, the Operations Manager will support the AUKUS I&A Office's Phase 3 Team. Responsibilities will include coordination of directorate initiatives; task tracking; executive level meeting facilitation and briefing preparations; developing and implementing office and organizational administrative policies and procedures; analyzing processes and workflow's, formulating process improvement recommendations; Directorate leadership schedule management; and ensuring smooth operation of the office. There may be opportunities for periodic trips outside of the DC area to support customer meetings.

 

This position is located at the Washington Navy Yard in DC.

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of government or military related experience
  • Ability to work on-site at the Washington Navy Yard full-time
  • Experience as a Chief of Staff, Executive Assistant, or similar role for a DoD program office or Experience with submarine design, construction, operations and/or sustainment.
  • Active SECRET security clearance
