• 7 or more years of acquisition and contracting experience supporting Air Force and/or DoD Programs
• APDP level II certification or PMP certification or ability to obtain PMP certification
• Expertise using MS Office applications and software
• US Citizenship and possess an active DoD Secret clearance
• Limited travel may be required

 

Preferred qualifications

• Completion of a Master's degree in a related field
• Possess an unlimited contracting warrant
• In depth knowledge and understanding of Department of Defense, Air Force, and/or Space Force processes and procedures

Responsibilities

Overview of the Position
You will be supporting Director of Contracting in Space Systems Command's Military Communication and Position, Navigation, and Timing PEO organization (SSC/CGK). SSC/CGK is responsible for managing and delivering current and next generation space programs. CGK works with Integrated Product Teams to develop and deliver Middle Tier Acquisition and Acquisition Category (ACAT) 1 and 3 programs.

 

Description of duties
This position interacts with the NH-IV (GS-15) Division Chief, contracting officers, and their support staff on a daily basis. The individual will provide acquisition and contracting support to Space Force customers in El Segundo, CA. You will be in the premier space acquisition organization responsible for delivering space-based capabilities and effects to our warfighters and allied partners. Key duties associated with this position include:

  • Apply critical thinking and experience to develop solutions for our customer's most challenging issues.
  • Develop reports, briefings, and other communication products that summarize contract issues impacting programs in the Military Communication and Position, Navigation, and Timing PEO portfolio.
  • Manage information requests, inquiries, and tasks through completion. This includes facilitating coordination with internal/external stakeholders and staffing products for the Division's leadership and/or Program Executive Officer review/approval.
  • Perform research and analysis that summarizes DFAR guidance as well as other relevant policy and guidance to provide recommendations and/or potential courses of action.
  • Support customer meetings, which includes producing read-ahead materials, drafting meeting minutes and tracking assigned action items, providing logistical support to include submitting/tracking visit requests, and distributing meeting information.
  • Review documentation and provide advice to government customers to include acquisition strategies, Request for Proposals, source selections, and contract awards/modifications.
