The Account Manager is responsible for the growth of our customer base and their dealer base – in essence – own these two business channels.  The Account Manager must work to position SRC as the customers' primary supplier while assisting in the development of the annual strategic plan along with sales and gross margin dollar goals.  The position must also build relationships with the customers. The Account Manager will have input on promotions, pricing levels and new product development and must learn about competitors including their product offerings, pricing, strengths, and weaknesses.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for meeting the sales and gross margin dollar goals as outlined in the strategic plan and participating in the budget planning process
  • Promote SRC and the entire team and keep customers aware of our products and services
  • Develop strategic and actionable plans to achieve sales and gross margin dollar goals
  • Make planned, professional sales calls on current and potential customers within the assigned area on a timely schedule
  • Ensure prompt follow-up on concerns and opportunities presented by the customer
  • Grow personal relationships with all customers within the assigned area
  • Look for new business opportunities in their assigned territory including new equipment designs, potential innovations, and new customer needs. Immediately refer these opportunities to the management team for final resolution
  • Set aside time for their continuing education in the areas of product, industry, and general business knowledge
  • Assist in the training for our customers
  • Be able to demonstrate to customers how the products work while at the same time understanding the capabilities and limits of the products
  • Using professional skills to determine the customers' needs and match our product offering to that need
  • Work with a team of internal, cross-functional associates to provide a customer centered service

 Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Agricultural studies
  • 3-5 years' experience in sales or focus on customer service
  • Technical knowledge of mechanical or fuel applications preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 10 – 30% to visit customers or vendors 
  • Computer proficient with MS Office products
  • Excellent communication, organization, and detail orientation
