About the Role
To provide credit risk oversight, monitoring and guidance for the SS&C trading desk.
To identify and support the implementation of an effective, robust and compliant credit risk framework for SS&C trading services. To assist SS&C in meeting its own regulatory obligations and the relevant commercial obligations SS&C has with its' clients.To promote high ethical standards and culture within SS&C.
Your Responsibilities
- Evaluate Counterparty Risk: Assess the creditworthiness of trading counterparties to ensure they can meet their financial obligations.
- Analyse Trading Portfolios: Review and analyse the credit risk associated with the firm's trading portfolios, including derivatives and other financial instruments.
- Develop Risk Models: Create and maintain models to quantify and manage credit risk in trading activities.
- Set Credit Limits: Establish and monitor credit limits for trading counterparties to mitigate potential losses, ensuring limits are periodically reviewed and approved through the internal governance mechanisms.
- Conduct Stress Testing: Perform stress tests to evaluate the impact of adverse market conditions on the credit risk of trading portfolios.
- Prepare Risk Reports: Generate detailed reports on relevant MI, including credit risk exposures, to senior management and stakeholders through the governance framework.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that trading activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements and internal risk policies from a credit risk perspective.
- Collaborate with Trading Team: Work closely with the Trading Team to understand their strategies and provide insights on credit risk implications.
- Stay Informed on Industry Developments: Keep up-to-date with industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices in credit risk management for trading activities.
- Monitor Market Conditions: Keep track of market trends and economic indicators that could impact the credit risk of trading activities.
Your Experience
- 8+ years of experience in credit risk analysis, particularly within trading activities or asset management.
- Demonstrable experience and proven track record of managing a credit limit framework and maintaining credit risk models.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics, trading strategies, and financial instruments.
- Awareness of relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to present reports to governance committees clearly.
- Ability to analyse complex financial data and identify trends and risks and proficiency in statistical and mathematical modeling to assess credit risk.
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
Desirable
- Certifications such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or FRM (Financial Risk Manager)
